Dereje Dubale was born on January 18, 1973, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to parents Bizunesh Kebede and Dubale Woldemichael. He completed his primary education at Tesfa Kokeb School and his secondary education at GC Abiot Kirts School. From a young age, Dereje exhibited a profound passion for music, immersing himself in Ethiopia's rich musical traditions and drawing inspiration from the country's legendary artists.

In 1999, Dereje began an eight-year tenure at the Biherawi Theater, honing his performance skills and captivating audiences with his dynamic stage presence. His breakthrough came in 2000 with the release of his debut single, "Aynen Alashm," which resonated deeply with listeners and established him as a prominent figure in the Ethiopian pop music scene. Dereje's discography includes other notable tracks such as "Gedelem Libe Yichelal," "Asebasbeen," and "Anchin Anchin Yilal," each showcasing his ability to blend traditional Ethiopian melodies with contemporary sounds.
