Ephrem Tamiru, a dynamic force in the Ethiopian music scene, was born on March 30, 1988, in Addis Ababa. From a young age, he was captivated by the rich musical traditions of his homeland, diving deep into the intricate sounds that characterize Ethiopian culture. Emerging in the early 2000s, Ephrem quickly made a name for himself with his innovative fusion of traditional and modern musical styles. His poignant lyrics explore themes of love, hope, and social equity, establishing him as a compelling voice that resonates with diverse audiences around the globe. At 13, Tilahun dropped out of school and attempted to reach Addis Ababa to follow his dream. Initially, he tried traveling on foot without his family’s permission but was caught in Tulu Bolo and sent back to his grandfather. Undeterred, Tilahun soon resumed his journey, this time hiding in a truck headed for the capital.
