Zeritu Kebede was born on February 19, 1984, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. From a young age, her passion for music was evident as she performed in school events and took an interest in songwriting. One of her earliest notable performances was singing Michael Jackson’s "Will You Be There" during her elementary school years at Lazarist Catholic School. This moment marked the beginning of her journey into the music world and sparked a deep commitment to the art of creating and performing.

In 2005, Zeritu released her self-titled debut album, which became a defining moment in her career. The album received widespread praise for its unique fusion of Ethiopian sounds with rock and gospel influences, setting her apart as an artist unafraid to innovate. Her bold approach to music, paired with heartfelt lyrics, resonated with audiences, quickly establishing her as one of Ethiopia’s most influential modern musicians.
